Man treated in hospital after house fire

A man has been taken to hospital after a fire at a bungalow in Staffordshire.

It started shortly before 16:00 BST on Sunday at a property on Yew Tree Drive, in Wheaton Aston.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze spread from the roof to other parts of the property.

The victim was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.

Neighbouring homes also had to be evacuated and the fire was eventually put out by 22:00.
