A paedophile who sent inappropriate pictures of himself to an online child activist group has been jailed for eight months.
Andrew Turiccki, 31, used a false name on Facebook and began talking to who he thought were teenage girls in in January 2022.
The Peterborough man made sexual comments during online conversations.
Turiccki was arrested by Cambridgeshire police in February 2022 following an investigation by the activist group.
The activists could not find enough details about Turiccki so they created an adult decoy profile.
After contacting him the on phone number he had given previously, he sent the same inappropriate images of himself as well as revealing his identity.
The online group arrived in Eastfield Road, Peterborough, to accost Turiccki on 20 February 2022.
On Monday, at Peterborough Crown Court, Turiccki, of no fixed address, was jailed having pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Det Sgt George Neal said: "Although Turiccki didn鈥檛 commit any contact offences, the intent was clearly there to harm a child.
鈥淭he force work tirelessly to apprehend and bring to justice those who are willing to cause harm to society's most vulnerable people."
