A couple have been left "shaken but uninjured" after they were subjected to alleged homophobic abuse.

The victims were walking down Cheltenham Promenade when a red Mini Cooper convertible slowed down beside them.

The four men in the car allegedly began hurling abuse at the couple, with one throwing items of rubbish at them, before driving off.

Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident, which took place at 21:00 BST on Sunday 26 May.

The men have been described as white, and are thought to be in their late 20s and early 30s.

Officers are also keen to speak to people who have dashcam or CCTV footage, which they believe to be relevant.
