Health chief ready for 'significant challenges'
The new chief executive of NHS Borders has said he is ready for the "significant challenges" in store.
Peter Moore will replace Ralph Roberts in the post in early September.
He joins the health board from North Cumbria Integrated Care and brings a "wealth of experience" to the role, NHS Borders said.
Karen Hamilton, who chairs NHS Borders, said the challenges ahead were "well-documented" but Mr Moore was "well-placed" to lead them.
She also thanked Mr Roberts for his time in the post.
Mr Moore said: "It is a genuine privilege to be joining NHS Borders as chief executive.
"I am really looking forward to working alongside the board鈥檚 dedicated and compassionate staff to help deliver the best care possible for our patients.
鈥淲e will no doubt face significant challenges, but I am confident that we will face these together with our partners, and in doing so will be able to provide the best support we can to the communities we serve."
