Man, 61, dies in crash involving two motorbikes
A man has died following a crash involving two motorbikes in Sutherland.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 on Wednesday on the A837 near Loch Assynt.
A 61-year-old man, who was the rider of a BMW GS1250, died at the scene.
A second motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man who was riding a Honda VFR motorbike, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.
The road was closed for several hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.
Sgt Calum MacAulay said the thoughts of police officers were with the family and friends of the man who died, as well as all those involved in the incident.
Police have appealed for appealed for anyone with any information or dashcam footage .
