Arrests as police investigate parcel thefts

Two people have been arrested following a spate of shoplifting and parcel theft in Leamington Spa.

Warwickshire Police said a woman, 37, and man, 39, were taken into custody on Tuesday following a report of theft at Leamington Shopping Park.

The pair were arrested on suspicion of 18 counts and 16 counts of theft respectively.

The force said it was investigating 12 incidents of parcels being taken from outside homes and six of shoplifting.

The alleged incidents occurred over a five-month period between October 2023 and March, a spokesperson added.

The pair have been bailed until April while inquiries continue.
