Man arrested over cannabis farm discovery
- Published
A man has been arrested after police discovered a cannabis farm in a building.
About 70 cannabis plants were seized from an address on Dorchester Road, Solihull, by police executing an early morning warrant.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and abstracting electricity, West Midlands Police said.
Officers and the National Grid remain at the scene to ensure the property is safe.
A police spokesperson said: "Cannabis farms are incredibly dangerous as the electricity meter often has been bypassed, with seriously overloaded electrical circuits running close to water-filled pipes.
"In addition, it is also important to consider that sometimes the people working in the farms are victims of human trafficking and working against their will."
