A former West Mercia Police officer has been charged with misconduct in a public office.
Nick Peacock, 39, an ex-police constable, is alleged to have had inappropriate contact with a vulnerable woman who he met through his duties.
The officer, who was based in Market Drayton, is also alleged to have failed to investigate a reported crime involving the same woman.
Mr Peacock, who resigned from the force in March, is due to appear at Dudley Magistrates' Court on Monday.
The charge followed an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation, which was prompted by a referral about Mr Peacock's conduct from West Mercia Police in May 2022.
The alleged offences took place between February and April 2022.
