Three people were taken to hospital 鈥 two by helicopter 鈥 after the accident on the A961, about three miles south of St Margaret鈥檚 Hope, in August last year.
Claudio Beccegato, 60, was then charged with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where he made no plea and was released on bail.
The Crown Office has now said there will be no further proceedings.
