A boy has potentially life-changing injuries following a crash in Cornwall, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident involving a Volkswagen Tiguan and Nissan Qashqai happened at a set of crossroads at Wheatley Road and Highmoor near Week St Mary at about 17:00 BST on Wednesday.

The force said a six-year-old boy who was in the Nissan was taken to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children with potentially life-changing injuries. The drivers of both cars were uninjured.

Officers asked anyone with information about the crash or who had dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
