Cannabis farm found by chance smell
A cannabis farm with an estimated value of up to 拢100,000 has been uncovered.
Cleveland Police said officers "detected a strong smell" of the drug when they went to Middlesbrough's Wicklow Street, in the Newport area, to deal with another matter on Saturday.
A room of young plants was found, while a check of a neighbouring address revealing a larger farm "with harvested cannabis which had been prepared for sale".
The electricity supply in both properties had been tampered with but has been made safe.
Police say they are searching for the people behind the drug farm.
