Boy hit by van suffers serious injuries

An 11-year-old boy is being treated for serious injuries after he was hit by a van.
Police were called to Great North Road in the Woodlands area of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, at about 14:45 BST on Friday.
The boy had been struck by a Ford Transit Connect van near the junction with Tenter Balk Lane. He was taken to hospital and the van driver stayed at the scene to help officers with their investigation, South Yorkshire Police said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have relevant information, is asked to call the force.
