A man was tricked into meeting another man through a dating app and then robbed, police said.

The victim was also subjected to a homophobic slur and had his phone taken, officers investigating the incident said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is now urging other potential victims to come forward.

A 19-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of robbery over the 2 September incident in Tameside, and remains in police custody.

PC Toni Kos, from GMP鈥檚 Tameside district, said: "I know coming forward to report incidents like this can make people feel uncomfortable.

"But I want to reassure people that we will always investigate reports of this nature and seek to secure the justice that victims deserve."
