Man charged with murder after stabbing death

A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder after another man died on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old victim was stabbed in Wrensfield Road in Stockton, County Durham, at about 18:40 BST, police said.

He suffered serious injuries and died in hospital a short time later.

The charged man has been remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Crown Court on 2 July.

Cleveland Police said officers would remain in the area over the coming days as the investigation continued.
