A teenager has been sentenced for taking part in disorder that broke out in Birmingham earlier this month.

The 17-year-old boy was involved in trouble that flared in Bordesley Green and other areas of the city on 5 August.

He initially denied violent disorder at Birmingham Magistrates' Court, but changed his plea to guilty.

A judge at the same court on Thursday ordered him to pay £500 in compensation and he was disqualified from holding a driving licence for six months.
