Falling lamp-post injures recycling centre worker

A worker has suffered life-changing injuries after he was hit by a falling lamp-post at a recycling centre, police have said.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Menear Road, St Austell, in Cornwall, at about 08:50 BST on Sunday.
The force said the man was taken to hospital. The Health and Safety Executive said it was aware of the incident and it was investigating.
A joint-statement from Cornwall Council and recycling firm Suez, which operates the site on behalf of the authority, said the man involved was a staff member.
No members of the public were involved in the incident, the statement from the council and Suez added.
The site reopened to the public on Tuesday after being closed following the incident, the council said.
