Arrest after toddler lifted from pram at TK Maxx

A 36-year-old man has been arrested after picking up a toddler from a pram at a south London TK Maxx store and telling their mother that he would take it.

The man was arrested in Bromley's High Street on suspicion of attempted kidnapping after Metropolitan Police officers were called to the store on Wednesday.

The two-year-old child was recovered and unharmed, the force said.

It added an investigation was continuing.

TK Maxx has been approached for comment.
