A man has been fined and banned from driving after causing a crash which killed a 76-year-old man.

The pensioner was struck by a black Ford Focus at a crossing on Brayford Way near the University of Lincoln on 12 November 2023. An air ambulance took the man to hospital, where he died from his injuries the next day.

Bramley Bince-Butcher, 45, of Linnet Close, Lincoln, pleaded guilty to a charge of causing death by careless driving at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

He was sentenced to a £362 fine and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
