Two people were stabbed and three were arrested after violence broke out in Hertford town centre following the Euro 2024 final.
Police said they received reports of disorder in a large crowd on Sunday at 22:00 BST.
Officers found two people with non-life-threatening stab wounds. Three men in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of affray.
Local MP Josh Dean posted on X: "I'm deeply concerned by reports of violent crime and anti-social behaviour in Hertford following last night鈥檚 football match."
Ch Insp David Cooke said: 鈥淥fficers were faced with an extremely challenging environment involving a large crowd. They worked quickly to make arrests and ensure that no one else was hurt.
鈥淢any members of the public will have witnessed the disorder and we鈥檇 be keen to hear from them, particularly anyone who captured mobile phone or CCTV footage."
Mr Dean thanked police for briefing him on the incident and said he would be working closely with the force to "ensure our streets are safe".
He echoed the call for witnesses and people with footage of the incident to come forward.
