Coastguard rescue teams have joined the search for a swimmer

Emergency services are searching for a man after reports a group of people went swimming in Cornwall and one man did not return to land, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a search was launched at 22:00 BST on Tuesday after reports of the incident off Northcott Mouth, Bude, were received.

The search continued on Wednesday and the man's family have been made aware of the incident, , which also urged people not to speculate about the incident.

A coastguard spokesperson said rescue teams from Bude and Hartland had been joined by RNLI crews and coastguard helicopters to help with the search.
