Detectives carrying out a murder investigation in Devon have been given a further 36 hours to question a suspect.

Devon and Cornwall Police said Exeter Magistrates' Court granted a warrant allowing officers more time to detain a 36-year-old man from London arrested on suspicion of murder.

Investigations are continuing into the incident involving a suspected stabbing at a home on Sandy Lane in Brampford Speke, near Exeter, at about 20:50 BST on Wednesday.

The force said a man aged 64 was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to contact investigating officers.
