Two men bailed after man dies in stabbing

Two men have been released on bail after they were arrested in connection with a fatal city centre stabbing.

A man in his 20s was found in Canterbury High Street High, near the junction with St Margaret's Street, at about 23:30 BST on Thursday, and was declared dead at the scene.

Of the four men later arrested two have been bailed until 9 and 10 January 2025.

Kent Police said the other two men remain in custody while enquiries continue.

On Friday afternoon, the force said searches had been carried out at properties in Herne Bay High Street and near Pine Tree Avenue, Canterbury, as part of ongoing inquiries.

Ch Insp Paul Stoner said: "I would like to reassure people that we have a large team of officers and detectives working to establish the full circumstances."
