The family of a man who died following a crash on the M74 have described him as a "proud motorcyclist".

James Martin, 45, was critically injured on the M74 near Abington, South Lanarkshire, at about 18:40 on 27 September.

He was riding his black Harley Davidson, near junction 13, when it crashed with a blue Ford Focus.

Police Scotland said Mr Martin, from Linwood, Renfrewshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two weeks on from his death his family thanked the emergency services and those who stopped to help.

They added: "James was a proud motorcyclist and will be missed by everyone who knew him.鈥

Sgt Andrew Coutts said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Martin."
