A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman, which is being treated as "unexplained", police have said.

Thames Valley Police was called by South Central Ambulance Service at 07:40 BST to reports of a sudden death in Jameston, Bracknell.

A 26-year-old woman, from Bagshot, Surrey, died at the scene.

A 27-year-old man, from Woking, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.

Senior investigating officer, Det Insp Peter Clarke, said: "We are in the very early stages of this investigation and although we have made an arrest, I would urge the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time."

A cordon is in place at Jameston as officers carry out inquiries and the force wants to hear from anyone with information.
