Poole's Twin Sails bridge has been closed after a fault was found.

The problem means the two lifting leaves of the bridge, which links the town centre with Hamworthy, cannot be lowered.

The bridge is closed to vehicles and pedestrians while engineers work to fix the issue discovered following a routine inspection.

Nearby Poole Bridge, at Poole Quay, is still in use. Motorists have been urged to allow extra travelling time.
