Two women arrested over knifepoint robbery
Two women have been arrested after a shop worker was threatened with a knife during a robbery.
A shop at the Viewley Hill centre in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, was targeted at about 22:15GMT on Tuesday.
Robbers armed with a knife told a member of staff to open the till and stole alcohol and cigarettes before fleeing the scene.
The women, aged, 41 and 46, were arrested on suspicion of robbery after police viewed CCTV footage.
Det Sgt Andy Sinclair, from Middlesbrough CID, said the staff member was not hurt but was "left shaken".
