Park being restored after fuel pipeline work
- Published
A park is still being restored after a fuel pipeline was replaced and will be returned to the community, Spelthorne council has said.
Reseeding is taking place and 18 semi-mature trees are being planted in Fordbridge Park, Ashford, after Esso carried out work on the fuel pipeline.
Council leader Joanne Sexton said the authority was working with Esso on restoring the park and added: 鈥淲e are 100% committed to the future legacy of this well-loved community space.鈥
Esso said its team had been working on the reinstatement for a number of months.
A spokesman for Esso said: 鈥淥ur desired timeline for completion has been impacted by a combination of inclement weather and the need to allow seedlings to become established, with fencing remaining in place to protect these efforts.
鈥淲e anticipate the work will be completed to the highest standards and fencing removed as soon as areas are established.鈥
