Home DIY at Easter blamed for long A&E delays
Accidents caused by people getting their DIY done over Easter is one of the reasons behind long delays at an A&E department, according to a health board.
Swansea Bay health board said people going to Morriston Hospital with non-life threatening illness or injury are likely to face a very long wait.
It urged people to take care when doing work around the house and garden.
"We are seeing high numbers of patients, including those with DIY-related injuries," it said in a statement.
"Please take care when doing work around the house and garden, following safety guidance for tools and machinery and wearing personal protective equipment where required."
Swansea Bay urged people to not go to the emergency department "unless absolutely unavoidable".
The board advised those with minor injuries to call 111 or go to the minor injury unit at Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
