Man who died in Grimsby crash named

A man who died in a crash in Grimsby has been named by his family.

Humberside Police said Alex Ramsden, 30, was killed when he was hit by a car on the A1136 Great Coates Road at about 23:40 GMT on Saturday 3 February.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed limit and has been released on bail.

In a statement, Mr Ramsden's family said: 鈥淭he day we received the awful news Alex had died, a part of us died with him."

The tribute continued: "Alex was the most loving son we could have wished for and words cannot begin to describe how much we will miss him."

Despite the efforts of emergency services, Mr Ramsden died at the scene from his injuries, police said.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or has CCTV or dash cam footage that may assist, to get in touch.
