An arts exhibition featuring the work of university cleaners, porters and security staff has launched.

The Out of Hours display features art from staff at Lancaster University, in collaboration with artist Jos茅 Garc铆a Oliva, was developed over a period of four years.

The university said the work is intended to challenge ideas around the "recognition of labour, exploring stereotypes and hierarchical structures".

The exhibition, open to the public, will run until 31 May in the university's Peter Scott Gallery.

Jos茅 Garc铆a Oliva, a Venezuelan research-based artist based in London, was previously commissioned to develop an exhibition called Traces, with the cleaning staff of Lancaster University鈥檚 library, back in 2022.
