A cyclist in his 60s has died days after he was seriously injured on a dual carriageway.

Bedfordshire Police was called to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicycle on the A6 Luton Road near the Barton-le-Clay slip road at about 11:00 BST on Saturday.

However, officers later decided to treat the incident as a single-vehicle collision.

The East of England Ambulance Service initially believed the victim had been riding a motorcycle.

Another man aged in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and being over the prescribed limit, but has since been released facing no further action.
