Work gets under way on new housing development

Construction of 280 new homes has started in a Nottinghamshire village.

Spitfire Homes said the delivery of the new properties in Radcliffe on Trent would see it contribute 拢2m to the local community, including nearly 拢450,000 for transport improvements.

The housebuilder said 拢870,000 would go towards expanding Radcliffe on Trent's two schools.

Matt Vincent, operations director at Spitfire Homes, said people were expected to be able to move into the first properties in spring next year.

鈥淩adcliffe represents an opportunity to showcase Spitfire as a forward-thinking homebuilder that creates vibrant and diverse communities," said Mr Vincent.

"Now that we have officially broken ground on site, we鈥檒l be supporting the employment of over 850 people and investing over 拢2 million into the local community including contributions towards education and transport infrastructure.

"I am excited to be involved in creating a new community in Radcliffe on Trent and deliver properties that our customers will proudly call home, from first-time buyers to downsizers and everything in-between.鈥
