A 30-year-old motorcyclist died when he came off his bike and collided with a car after he "lost control" of his vehicle while overtaking, police have said.
The crash happened on Front Street, Glasshoughton, Castleford, at about 16:00 BST on 28 May after the man's bike came into contact with the rear of a Ford Puma he was overtaking.
The motorcylist then fell of his bike before both he and his vehicle crashed into an oncoming Ford Ka, according to West Yorkshire Police.
A force spokesperson said: "Emergency services quickly attended the scene where it was established the rider had sadly sustained fatal injuries in the incident."
"A road closure was put in place on Front Street while recovery and investigation work was carried out," they added.
Officers appealed for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch to help with the investigation into the crash.
