A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed near a primary school.
The woman, in her 20s, suffered multiple stab wounds near Beech Hill Primary School, in Dunstable Road, Luton, on Tuesday morning.
She was seriously injured and remains in hospital, Bedfordshire Police said.
The force confirmed that Barze Faesal, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and appeared at Luton Magistrates' Court earlier.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Luton Crown Court on 24 June.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers will continue with high-visibility patrols in the area for community engagement and reassurance in the wake of the incident."
