City crematorium will partly close for two months

A city crematorium will partly close for two months to allow a £175,000 roof upgrade to take place.
Salisbury Crematorium's failing roof will be replaced next month, with the work expected to run between August and September. The building's customer-facing side will shut during this period.
Cremations will still be operational, with services being held at the Guildhall, based on Market Place, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Tuesdays will be excluded because the site cannot be accessed safely on market days.
Salisbury City Council plans to fund the repairs by using some of the £338,000 received from the sale of a former council-owned building on Blue Boar Row.
The existing mineral-felt roof will be replaced with a more durable material, Alwitra Evalon VSK Membrane, which has an expected service life of 40 years.
