An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of father-of-seven Colin Richards.

Corey Gauci from Cardiff, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Cardiff Magistrates鈥 Court on 30 April.

A second man, 26, also from Cardiff, who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail but recalled to prison for breaching his licence conditions.

Mr Richards, 48, was found unconscious in Snowdon Road, Ely, following a report of a disturbance in the Heol-Y-Berllan and Heol Trelai area of Cardiff at about 23:30 BST on 7 April.

The 48-year-old died after being stabbed in the leg while waiting in a car for his friend, an inquest previously heard.

Mr Richards was described as a much-loved father and grandfather and an "all-round family man" in a tribute by family.

"Though the loss is deep, the power of love and friendship will always stay alive," they added.
