Nottingham city centre's annual beach is returning for the summer.

The temporary attraction will be in place at Old Market Square from 17 July to 1 September.

The theme for this year's event will be the popular Greek island of Santorini.

The Mellors Group, which runs the event alongside the city council, says visitors can expect Greek gyros, rides and beach bars among other attractions.

Hayleigh Affleck, marketing manager at The Mellors Group, said: "Think whitewashed buildings, and the vibrant blues you see in Santorini.

"This is for the community, and to give people an opportunity to relax if they can't travel abroad.

"It's going to be the biggest beach we've done yet, and we can't wait for people to see it."

The beach will be free to enter once again this year.
