Road to close for 12 weeks for widening work

Drivers have been warned a route through a Rutland town will be closed for 12 weeks due to roadworks.
Work is due to get under way in Brooke Road, Oakham, from Monday until 11 October.
Rutland County Council said a stretch between Derwent Drive and Cricket Lawns, across the railway crossing, would be closed, with diversions in place.
The project will see the road widened along that section and a new entrance to a housing development created.
The authority said residents unable to use on-street parking bays outside their home during the closure were being offered free use of nearby pay and display car parks.
