Major reconstruction and resurfacing work on a road in a Staffordshire village is due to start on Monday.
The 拢200,000 scheme is part of a wider 拢50m investment by Staffordshire County Council.
Elliots Lane from Yew Tree Gardens to the roundabout on Watery Lane, and at the junction of Bilbrook Road, in Codsall will be resurfaced and repaired.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place from 09:00 to 15:00 BST on 20 May until 24 May - with the road set to also be closed the following week.
Timeline of work
- From Monday until Friday, initial works will be carried out and temporary traffic lights will be in place from 9:00 to 15:00
- From 28 May until 1 June, the road will be closed between 7.30 to 19.30 BST for reconstruction works.
- On 2 June, the road will also be closed between 7.30 and 22:00 for resurfacing.
- Between 3 and 4 June, temporary traffic lights will continue to be in use between the hours of 9:00 to 15:00, while crews paint the new road markings.
A signed diversion will be in place during the closures.
The county council's 拢50m project will be carried out on the county鈥檚 roads over the next three years.
The work on Elliotts Lane will also include reconstruction and resurfacing of the lane, along with repairs to the tactile crossings, kerbs and ironworks.
Crews will also be clearing away vegetation from the footpaths. The work will take place from Yew Tree Gardens to the roundabout on Watery Lane, and the Bilbrook Road junction.
Mark Deaville, county council cabinet member for strategic highways, said: 鈥淓lliotts Lane is a busy road that links Watery Lane and Wolverhampton Road that are heavily trafficked, which takes its toll on Elliotts Lane.
"I鈥檓 sure people will notice a real difference and I would like to thank people in advance for their patience while this vital work takes place.鈥
