Murder charge for man and youth over fatal shooting

A man, a woman and a boy have now been charged with the murder of Deavon Harrison

A man and a teenager have been charged with murdering a father-of-seven who was shot in a house.

Deavon Harrison, 46, was found seriously injured at the property on Dunstall Hill in Wolverhampton on 30 December.

Jonathon Williams, aged 19, and a boy of 16 who cannot be named due to his age, are set to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Their charges follow that of Kerry Francis, 42, who is also accused of murder.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Harrison was killed by a gunshot wound to his chest, West Midlands Police said last week.

Mr Williams and the youth have additionally been charged with possession of a firearm.

The 16-year-old is also accused of possession of a bladed article.

'Good progress'

Det Ch Insp Laura Harrison said officers were making good progress with the investigation and continued to support Mr Harrison's family.

"It's still really important that anyone with information who has not yet been in touch speaks to us so we can build the clearest picture possible of what happened," she said.

Mr Harrison's family described him as a "beloved son" who left behind parents, 13 siblings, seven children and a granddaughter.
