Drug driving arrests after boy, 12, struck by car

A 12-year-old boy is in hospital after being seriously injured when he was struck by a car.

The incident took place at the Baylton Drive junction with Preston Old Road, in Catterall, at about 21:50 GMT on Thursday, Lancashire Police said.

A 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Manchester, have been arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

The boy's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, and police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
