Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans says he is "a bit sore" after starting rehearsals for the show's return.

The opera singer said "the body knows it" and he "looked like a 90-year-old bloke" when he got out of bed in the middle of the night.

"I鈥檝e had two days of rehearsal for Strictly, and let me tell you something 鈥 the body knows it," he said on his 大象传媒 Radio Wales show.

Evans' dance partner will be revealed on Saturday as Strictly returns to 大象传媒 One.

Evans, from Carmarthen, previously said that he was "really nervous" about "any kind of jumping" and that he would be representing portly dads everywhere.

"Do you know what though, it鈥檚 hard. It鈥檚 a proper new skill set, I鈥檝e got to say. I鈥檓 having the best time. I鈥檓 having the best, best time," he said on Thursday.

Strictly Come Dancing released its full line-up last month, including Evans alongside the likes of Nick Knowles, Shayne Ward, Pete Wicks, and Toyah Wilcox.

Although Evans is known for the GoCompare adverts, he made his career as a classical singer, having performed at the Royal Albert Hall over 200 times.

He has also released two number one classical music albums.

The 大象传媒 Radio Wales presenter also joked about what his partner has made of their early rehearsals.

"I鈥檇 like to dedicate the first song to them, because it鈥檚 exactly what they said to me in rehearsal yesterday. What鈥檚 the song? Wait for it鈥"

He then played Shania Twain鈥檚 hit That Don鈥檛 Impress Me Much.

He added dancing was like "learning another language".

"If somebody gives me a sheet of music, I鈥檇 go 'oh yeah, this is how it goes' and you just sight read it, right? It鈥檚 like a new shorthand and I don鈥檛 quite know it yet."
