Residents around Falmouth have been advised to keep their windows and doors shut as firefighters tackle a large blaze.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it was actively managing a "large fire involving green waste" in the Penryn area, said Cornwall Council.

"Crews are taking appropriate action alongside partner agencies to minimise the impact to residents and the environment.

"As there will be varying smoke levels for some time, residents may want to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution - particularly individuals with conditions like asthma."

If anyone experiences new or worsening symptoms, they are advised to contact their GP or NHS 111.
