Three people have suffered smoke inhalation after a television caught fire in Torquay, firefighters say.

The blaze broke out in a property on Victoria Road at about 19:15 BST on Sunday, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.

Three fire engines from Torquay and Paignton were sent to the scene.

Firefighters said they used breathing apparatus and a safety jet to put out the blaze, which was located on the first floor of the property.

South Western Ambulance Service also attended and treated people at the scene.
