Plaques to lost loved ones spring up around estate
- Published
About 100 plaques remembering lost loved ones are being put up around an estate.
Middlesbrough woman Ann Hanratty started the project, which has seen a number of the small memorials put up on fencing around the Fransham Road and Kimberley Drive area.
She said after she put up the first few, words got around and now she has dozens to put up.
Independent Middlesbrough councillor Dennis McCabe said the scheme showcased "community spirit".
Mrs Hanratty said: "It started out with just a few, 10, 15 plaques and then when people started hearing about it, they鈥檝e all been getting in touch with me to get their loved ones put on as well."
"[It will] give somewhere for them [the children and grandchildren] to be able to go and look," she added.
