Police believe a white van hit the cyclist

A cyclist was left with a broken wrist after a hit-and-run.

The 40-year-old man was cycling along Normanby Road in Ormesby, near Middlesbrough, at about 19:45 BST on Friday, when he was struck by a white van, Cleveland police said.

The cyclist, who was wearing high-visibility clothing and had lights on his bike, was taken to James Cook University Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them.
