Supermarket to open at former House of Fraser site
A supermarket is set open at the former site of House of Fraser in a city centre.
Tesco said it had agreed a lease for an Express store in the building in English Street, Carlisle.
House of Fraser closed in May after the site was sold for a reported 拢750,000 in 2023.
Tesco previously ran a store in the city's centre Victoria Viaduct, but this closed in October.
Dean Conway, Tesco's area manager, said: "It鈥檚 taken a while to find the right site but we look forward to letting the local community know once we have an opening date."
Tesco said the House of Fraser building was acquired by a private developer and that it had agreed to lease the building.
