Abusive graffiti removed from Jeremy Hunt's office

Abusive graffiti left on the windows of Chancellor Jeremy Hunt's South West Surrey constituency office has been removed.

Mr Hunt's office in Hindhead, Surrey, was vandalised with the words "die Tory scum".

South West Surrey Conservatives said: "It's always disappointing to see such acts and language used."

Surrey Police said they were investigating the incident, believed to have taken place between 20:00 and 21:00 GMT on Monday.

A notice has been placed on the office door, asking visitors to make an appointment "due to a heightened security risk to staff".

No-one from Mr Hunt's South West Surrey Conservatives office was believed to be in the office at the time of the criminal damage, according to Surrey Police.

The vandalism came as Mr Hunt gave his spring Budget on Wednesday.

Surrey Police urged anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or helmet cam footage to come forward.
