Two police officers hurt in chainsaw chase incident
Two police officers have been injured in an incident in Renfrewshire, where a man was seen running with a chainsaw.
A 27-year-old man was arrested after the disturbance on Glasgow Road, Paisley, which also saw a vehicle crash into a stationary police car.
Footage shared on social media shows a man pursuing an officer while brandishing the weapon, shortly after the crash at about 13:00.
Police Scotland said there were no other injuries and there was no wider risk to the public.
Images from the scene show a police car crashed through a garden wall and a dark-coloured Volkswagen with a badly-damaged front.
Another video posted online appears to show a man being detained by several uniformed and plain clothes officers outside a dental surgery.
The injured officers were treated by paramedics but were not seriously hurt.
The incident is not being treated as terror related.
Glasgow Road remains closed between Buchlyvie Road and Allanton Avenue while officers continue their investigations.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
"There is no wider risk to the public and officers remain at the scene while inquires are ongoing."
