Man dies, second hurt when hit by car in city
A man in his 60s has died and another man was hurt when they were hit by a car in Birmingham.
Officers were called after the two pedestrians were struck by the vehicle in Great Hampton Street at about 15:45 BST on Sunday.
"A man in his 60s was treated at the scene but despite the best efforts of the ambulance service he sadly died," said West Midlands Police.
The second man was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. The driver was spoken to by officers at the scene and was helping with inquiries, officers added.
The force appealed for witnesses to come forward and said it wanted to hear from anyone with dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage from around the time of the crash.
